Butler Contracting is seeking a full-time salaried construction technician. This position will require a person with multiple skill sets but we are looking for someone with the desired qualifications that is willing to learn carpentry work and cross-train with other team members.

If you have tile and flooring install experience that is a plus. You will not be doing painting and drywall everyday. You will mostly focus on remodeling, fencing, decks, window and door installs, and some roofing as needed.

This position will become the company expert of the Butler Contracting Home Maintenance Program. This includes performing the maintenance task, working with customers, record keeping, and customer scheduling as well as other jobs. You will need to have a working and reliable smartphone, valid driver's license, ability to be added to our company commercial insurance policy without a substantial rate increase, ability to email, learn and operate the company CRM program, and other apps and programs as needed.

  • Comes prepared to present a safety topic at each staff meeting and manages the attendance and materials needed for OSHA reporting
  • Take and manage photos of projects every day as well as the quality, resulting in a clean professional looking photos suitable for marketing, and ensure Team Lead completes these tasks with quality on all projects or all crews
  • Develops and submits daily reports pertaining to field operations prior to 5pm to allow management to address any issues or scheduling conflicts that may arise
  • Ensures that quality control standards are met on each project and Q/A Q/C reporting is completed at the end of each project and form is uploaded to the Company Cam with the associate project
  • Verify that the Team Lead completed these tasks mentioned above and if, at the end of a subcontracted project, it is the Production Manager's responsibility to perform Q/A Q/C reporting process
  • It is the Production Manager's responsibility to verify that the Team Leader collected all pending deposits and/or final payments from customers - the customer should know all the project deadlines, specifications, and expectations for the project, if the customer is not home, the payments are done ahead of time via a person in meeting, phone call, text, and emails
  • If the options above have been exhausted contact the office for assistance, and if there is a subcontracted component to a project that is pending for final payments, the Production Manager will collect the final payment
  • It is the Production Manager's responsibility to verify that the Team Lead is tracking the job costing including total man hours documented and summed up daily in Jobber with the associated project(s)
  • It is the Production Manager's responsibility to bring a report of job costings and gross profits to the weekly meeting and present - this means breaking down the total man hours, materials, and equipment costs for each project completed in the previous week, thereby assisting the managing personnel and resources for future projects and ensuring the company is meeting their goals
  • Monitor and track reports of job expenses, materials, equipment and any other expenses, and enter in the Jobber expense section - work with the Team Lead here as needed
  • Manages and organizes all the job folders with all the relevant information which can include receipts, expenses, plans, documents, product sheets, notes, and more
  • Develops and manages the material and equipment list, ordering, scheduling and delivery of materials with ample time for current and upcoming projects - the goal is to make minimal trips and have large amount of materials on-site prior to project commencement to minimize material handling and maximize efficiency whenever possible and profitable
  • The Production Manager is expected to review the materials list, plans, drawings, and/blueprints for each project with the Team Lead prior to the ordering to ensure all the material and equipment needs are accounted for on each project

Butler Contracting is seeking a summer intern to train and become a Construction Technician in our company or in the home remodeling industry. There are great possibilities for this role becoming a full-time position within our company at the end of the busy summer season. We are looking for someone who wants to train, learn, and grow in the construction industry.
