Butler Contracting is seeking a full-time Salaried Construction Technician. The desired candidate will have a strong technical background with the ability to work as a team to accomplish task.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong skill set in painting, staining, and drywall repairs. Must know how to hang drywall, tape, float, mud, and texture and match texture.

Demonstrated ability with a skills test will be required prior to hiring. This position will require a person with multiple skill sets but we are looking to bring someone on with the desired qualifications that is willing to learn the carpentry work and cross train with other team members.

If you have tile and flooring install experience that is a plus. You will not be doing painting and drywall everyday. You will mostly be doing remodeling, fencing, decks, and window and door installs, and some roofing work as needed.

We are looking to bring a skilled person on to help with our workload and remodeling projects. This position will become the company expert of the Butler Contracting Home Maintenance Program including but not limited to performing the maintenance task, working with customers, record keeping and customer scheduling as needed. -Leads the layout independently or with the Foreman on projects as needed to a point the team members can continue.

-Ensures that quality control standards are meet and Q/A Q/C reporting is completed at the end of each job (once project is complete) and upload the form into Company Cam with the associated project.

This position will be required to take the lead on or assist with scheduling, logistics, bids, contracts, change orders, payments, and deposit collection, takeoffs, and assessing and coordinating material needs for projects as needed. As well as being able to take on and complete in a timely, efficient, and professional manner other duties as assigned.

-Manages Team Preparedness daily as well as monitors productivity and efficiency in all aspects of the company related to field operations. Punctuality, jobsite performance, individual efficiency and proficiency shall all be monitored and ensure the team is held accountable as needed.

-Takes the lead on and ensures all permitting is acquired and approved for each project as needed as well as manages and ensures that utility locates are completed prior to project commencement

-Verifies the Team Leader has a clear understanding of the layout of each project including plans, drawings, scope of work, and a clear plan of action with clear schedule of expectations to a point the Team Lead can continue and delegate specific tasks to the rest of the team.

-Delegates the proper manpower and resources for each task via scheduling and ensuring the Team Lead is managing the team appropriately.

-Audits the safe use of machinery and equipment and ensures it is in safe usable condition monthly.

-Coordinates safety precautions with the Team Lead on each project including incident reporting for any safety or equipment/tool damage that may occur within the company. This includes following the company protocol on incident reporting. Comes prepared to present a safety topic at each staff meeting and develops and manages the attendance and materials needed for OSHA reporting.

-Takes and Manages quality photos as needed in each phase of each project before, during, and after to document progress with a strong emphasis on clean professional looking final completion photos that are suitable for marketing purposes uploaded in Company Cam. Responsible to ensure the Team Lead completes these tasks with quality on all projects for all crews.

-Develops and submits a daily report pertaining to field operations prior to 5pm to allow management to address any issues or scheduling conflicts that may arise.

-Ensures that quality control standards are met on each project and Q/A Q/C reporting is completed at the end of each job (once project is complete) and the form is uploaded in Company Cam with the associated project. Verify the Team Lead completed these tasks and if the end of a subcontracted project it is the Production Manager’s responsibility to perform the QA/QC reporting process.

-It is the Project Manager’s responsibility to verify the Team Leader is collecting any pending deposits and/or final payments with the customer at the end of each project. The customer should know the plan for completion and an estimated timeframe the project will be completed, and when final payment will be required at the start of the project. If the customer is not home work on payment coordination ahead of time if possible, via in person meeting, phone call, text, and email as needed. If those options have been exhausted then contact the office for assistance. If there is a sub contracted component to a project that is pending for final payment the Production Manager will collect final payment in those situations.

-It is the Production Manager’s responsibility to verify the Team Lead is tracking and job costing on each project that shall include total man hours spent on each project documented daily and summed up at the end of each project daily in Jobber with the associated project(s). It is the Production Manager’s responsibility to bring a report of job costing and gross profits to the weekly meeting to present. This means breaking down the total man hours, materials, and equipment cost for each project that was completed the previous week, so the profits and job cost can be tracked weekly. This will assist in managing personnel and resources for future projects to ensure the company is hitting their goals.

-Monitors, tracks and reports any of the job expenses, materials, equipment, misc. expenses, and enter in Jobber in expense section for any purchases made as needed. Works with the Team Lead on this as needed

-Manages and organizes all job folders with all relevant information including but not limited to receipts, expenses, plans, documents, product sheets, notes etc.

-Develops and manages and/or delegates as needed material and equipment list, ordering, scheduling and delivery of materials with ample time for current and upcoming projects as needed. The goal is to make minimal trips to the store and have large amounts of materials delivered onsite prior to project commencement to minimize material handling to allow for peak jobsite efficiency whenever possible and profitable.

-It is the expectation that the Production Manager and Team Lead will review material list, plans, drawings and/or blueprints for each project prior to ordering to ensure all materials and equipment needs are accounted for on each project. If no drawing exists there will be one created at that meeting if needed.
